What is RCYBP?

Radio Carbon Years Before the Present (RCYBP) is the uncalibrated date recovered from carbon 14 dating used to determine the age of carbonaceous materials up to about 60,000 years. “Present” in RCYBP is defined as AD 1950. Raw ages can be calibrated to give calendar dates.
